The Return of King's Things

Posted: 07:50 PM ET

FROM THE DESK OF LARRY KING:

KINGS'S THINGS: IT'S MY TWO CENTS

Now that I'm a star on 30 Rock, I'm considering developing my own sitcom at this prime in my life.larryking

If there is a person prettier than Charlize Theron, I have not seen her.

The Donny and Marie show in Las Vegas is top drawer.

I wonder if supplements really work.

Have you noticed while looking at paintings, frames are out?

I'm a Little League Dad and my resolution is NOT to get thrown out of a game!

Barack Obama is one of the great modern orators.

Do you think ANYONE- I repeat- ANYONE actually read the Stimulus Package?

What happens if the stock market goes to zero?

The World Baseball Classic now underway, is one helluva good idea.

I still can’t imagine how people stood on the wing of a plane while it nestled in the water.

When people Twitter and Tweet it sounds like they’re lisping.

My life has been so much better since the Dodgers signed Manny.

HOW CAN THE INTELLIGENTSIA OF AMERICA BE SO BLINDED that they cannot see that the Federal Government must have a money system that can create and maintain an equivalent ratio of money to the goods and services that its peoples’ hands and minds can produce? Nature’s Basic Law of Economics states: All goods and services flow from the action of people resources on natural resources— Money is the medium of exchange which should be equal to the value of the goods and services—and not to a gold standard or some other insane idea.

MONEY FOR BOTH DOMESTIC AND DEFENSE
The question should be: are there people resources and natural resources available for both? Money can be created (Article 1, section 8, of the Constitution). When are we going to wake up?

Sacramento Tent City... what's with the mayor's statement of "1... B... and Lastly"??? What happened to "1-2-3" or "A-B-C" or "First-Next-Lastly"? Edjumaction needs to evaluated in "Arnold-land, me thinks. This is a public figure... Go figure...

Ken   March 9th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

Your so called experts sure haven't been there. I can tell you that just from their advice. Been there done that. They should be telling the ones in tents and out of work to find a shelter and make arrangements to use their facility for phone and address purposes. in most cases you cannot get a job without a permanent address. Also to find a way for food. You don't know what you are dealing with if you don't have the experience to use lifes experiences. He is telling you what text book arrangements would say. But that isn't the case

I am 39 no debt an interested in investing some cash in stocks which stocks should I buy.

Ken   March 9th, 2009 9:55 pm ET

It sucks being in that shape to try and find a job when you can't even buy one to not be able to qualify for food stamps because you don't have a kitchen to cook it in. NO place to bath or bathroom. to scrape the grain up off of the ground or rumage through trash cans to find something that someone else thought was inedible. Then once you find one there isn't any transportation so you start out at two am to get to work by walking and get home by nine or ten at night if you are lucky to find one during the day. The humiliation to once be a productive portion of society only to find that now you are the butt of evening jokes. That is the problem all the experts come from middle to high income families never had to deal with a tradgedy like this. That kid hasn't a clue. The hoplessness of it all. sad but true. I feel for them. Just ask some of the people in the sudan how this is.

I don't even want to think about what's going to happen if the stock market goes to zero. Let's stay positive. Here's wishing the stock market goes up soon and continuously.

I'm 35 yr old. I'm a pharmacy tech for the past 13 yrs. I have a stable job. I'm one of their star employee. My brother and his wife are both college students and they have one child. Well, grandma is taking care of the child and I try to contribute to their household. I always spend money on myself but lately I've been helping them out. About 1 year from now I will be totally debt free. I'm trying really hard to save $15,000 for a decent car. Yes, I have been saving more money than ever before. I have totally stop charging. I definitely, do not spend all of my pay check. I'm in total control. I'm exercising and eating healthy and looking good. I'm keeping focus on my dream. I'm cleaning up financially. I will live a better life one year from now. Hien Lam

here is an example of what the joke of the stock market is.
It will NEVER go to zero. The whole country could own them for free.
What an idiotic idea.
Here is what rumors do for stock values.

A canadian bank with 35 dollar shares, had 3 billion of bad debt in washovia bank.
the bank is worth 600 billion.
if they would have said they were going to write off the debt in one quarter, and the shares dropped 5%,the stock loss would be more than the 25 billion.Same bank doing the same business.,but overnight the stock drops?
So a decent dividend was still given out,and the money will be written off slowly under the table.
The real test of a company is the ASSETS they have.
Wait and see,the market will be a combination of assets and shares.
A company with 10 billion worth of real estate, but no cash is still worth 10 billion.Yet the market can plummet the shares.
Day traders, not steady money in from mutual funds is causing the market swings, which is very vulnerable to the daily news.
The market will NEVER GO TO ZERO.
EVER

hugh ~ california   March 10th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

@mee,
You seem like a scammer or a con. Whoever the heck you are, why don't you use a legit name?! mee ain't any kind of business name that I ever heard of?! Do you have a business name mee? If you have some plan spell it out for us here and now, otherwise take a hike some place else! I for one don't think you're legit at all. If you are prove it.

kathy gallagher   March 10th, 2009 5:11 pm ET

Larry, you live in So. Calif. Why aren't you talking about all the taxed Arnold is throwing at us. Theses taxes are totally unsubstancial. He and his Republican goons are ready the flush the toilet like Bush II did to the Americans. Has anyone even taken a look at any of this crap out here? Lou Dobbs, where are you....The only people who are trying to fight Arnold and his chums are John and Ken. This is serious stuff. I think someone can do a great story about this mess and how they are going to put it on the ballot in May and not even tell us anything about it. 1 ballot to raise the taxes for another 2 years and the other ballot to take the taxes from 1A and give to 1B the stupid school union. I don't have kids but I'm ready to get out of town.
Talk about it.......someone......

kathy gallagher   March 10th, 2009 5:27 pm ET

California going in the dogs and noone is saying or doing nothing about it except John and Ken on 640 KFI Radio.

mee   March 12th, 2009 6:56 am ET

My plan for the banks is simple. I don't mean to say that we the american people have to bail troubled banks but we together can help our country. Here is my analogy or plan. PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS.

For Banks that are in trouble of being closed.
They need to have an assets inorder to stay open. and the plan as follows.

If the bank and the people of america agree to it. Each of us can put a dollar into a bank which is equal to 4dls a month. there will be set time ex, 2 yrs. LOTTORY BASED.

A dollar each week or $4 dollars every month will need to be deposited to the bank and a receipt will be issued to each person.

Every one who wishes to join the drawing will be committed to pay until the end of the term.

The drawing will be set up automatic.

Whatever amount of money is collected will be divided into $100,000.00 and that money will be given to each number of drawing each month.

The amount will not be taxed if legally approved.

The main Purpose of the Acton is:
TO HELP THE ECONOMY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Save jobs by helping the economy

A. Help our people through the rough time we are in
B. People who wins the money will use the money to save their homes from
fore closer if possible.
C. Be able to buy a property if have good credits to buy one will apply the money towards the down payment
D.pay of debt
E. Pay off car loans
F. And the bank will have asset every month which will save them from closing.

I my self and people whom i have work with agreed to do so. It's four dls each month plus the money will come back to us as long us the gvernment and the bank agrees with the terms. Most important if the people agree also without any kind of fraud.

thanks, zarow from California

Current economic conditions, billion dollar profits reported by oil companies concerns me primarily due to the lack of the media reporting on two of the world's largest oil supplies discovered in the United States. One, the Williston Basin, commonly referred to as the Bakken. Two, the world's largest oil reserve reported located 1000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains. Discovered 4-20-06.
Who is responsible for withholding this information from the American public? Why no action appears imminent?
