30 Rock: The Larry King Edition

Posted: 01:35 PM ET

Miss 30 Rock last night?  It was really funny.  Especially since the plot was based on charachter Tracy Jordan's appearance on Larry King Live, and the episode was called "Larry King."img00078

Now Tracy's appearance was not a real episode of Larry King Live (you probably figured that out), but some of our staff helped the good folks at 30 Rock, and they got a credit at the end of the show.  This is not something we're used to, and Todd was so excited about it he took a picture.

Who is going to pay for the house Nadia needs for her and her
fourteen chldren?

Maria   February 27th, 2009 9:30 pm ET

I am disgusted by the fact that this woman is being made into the star that she clearly hoped she would become by giving birth to these 8 children. I do not believe for one minute that she was unaware of the fact that she was having a abnormal number of children. And this man who is her spokesperson- what credentials does he have to be a character reference for Nadya. No person or woman in their right mind would bring 8 babies into the world this way when the 6 already there are not being taken care of. This woman is moving into a new home? Paid for by whom- the tax payers? I find this all disgusting. These children should be taken out of her custody and given up for a adoption. There are so many loving families out there who can not for whatever reason have children of their own. Or, for whatever reason have chosen not to give birth, but prefer to adopt. The disgust I feel about this situation and the exploitation this woman is using of herself to become a star is disgusting. This is the most extreme pro life example I can think of... it is actually anti life- because what kind of life are these children going to have as narcissistic extensions of this very troubled woman. I find the whole thing utterly disgusting.

Mary Palazzo   February 27th, 2009 9:33 pm ET

You cannot allow this octuplet mom to take those babies home!! She clearly did this only for the money and the attention and she is obviously living in a fantasy word....why else would she have had no plans in place, no cribs, no carseats, for these babies? She thought she would just get all this handed to her and a reality show to boot.....and she thinks she might actually be able to work someday as a social worker and make enough money to take care of all these kids without help from the government? Please.....

And now , according to what I am seeing on your show tonight, it seens she's getting all these "upgrades" maybe a new, nicer, bigger, place to live, new furniture, because she did have all these children......probably the only think she DID plan on....and the fact that she declined the generous offer by the "Angels" is proof she has no grip on reality and no true concern for these babies other than for the celebrity they've created for her....

Please get these poor babies and maybe even the other six as well, into loving homes where they can be adopted by truly caring and responsible parents...

Shelby Draper   February 27th, 2009 9:43 pm ET

This is the most absurd situation about which I've heard. How does a single unemployed mother who could not even take care of the six children she already had(some with special needs) think(the operative word) that she could possibly take care of more??? Granted she might have more embroyes.....which obviously was another of the poor choices she's made in her life!!! But that pales in comparision to bringing those to life. Had she REAL LOVE FOR HER CHILDREN she would NEVER HAVE BROUGHT THEM INTO THE WORLD. She is a sin(sic)sensationalist who has not a thread of touch with reality. The loneliness in her live will always be there because she wants someone/something to make her happy and to fulfill her needs, instead of tackling the really hard job of fixing herself!!! She needs to be committed to an institution for the rest of her life, away from all children, since she is a terrible influence on anyone with whom she comes in contact. Get her out of the media....for goodness sake....you are only feeding that "sin"sationalism phenomena ....

Mary Miller   February 27th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

This woman is absolutely insane. The 6 children she already has never get a drop of ink from her and that should tell us EVERYTHING.

Debbie   February 27th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

How can Nadya Suleman be disrespectful of her mother when, in fact, it is her mother that has taken care of the first six children? It makes me sick to my stomach to watch the interview of Nadya and her mother.

Ms. Suleman cannot be mentally stable – who in their right mind would not want Gloria Allred on their side? Exactly! Ms. Suleman is either ignorant or really ignorant.

Anne   February 27th, 2009 9:48 pm ET

what is Nadya going to do after the "angels' leave – after the 24/7 they are supposed to help her with? She may get help now but what about the future? She is not being realistic! Put them in foster care . Her mother and father are up in age and they won't be able to help her much longer. Nadya, have mercy on them! This all takes money.

Lean Phuah   February 27th, 2009 9:48 pm ET

I think Nadya is a selfish brat. Not only is she unappreciative of her parents unconditional love, she is shameless! She's in her thirties and she remains a burden and a parasite to her aging parents who should be enjoying their retirement, instead their working for her as babysitters and her bank account.

M. Gardner   February 27th, 2009 9:49 pm ET

Dr. Phil, I am so disappointed in your interview on your show and here. You are way to easy on this woman who has lived off of the public, through her disability payments (really a back injury so bad you could not work AT ALL in any capacity) all the while she was pregnant year after year. She said she was depressed cause she couldn't work? How does someone with a back injury carry so many pregnancies in such a short period of time? On welfare for at least a year and a half, as she admitted, and during that time paid (somehow) for IVF and got pregnant. This woman is ripping off everyone!! No one will donate to her as long as she can touch the money. She has no job and no money, but has perfectly manicured acrylic nails and a pedicure! PLEASE!!! There are photos of her shopping at Nordstrom buying expensive cosmetics. This is an insult!! Don't do a damn thing for her!

Beverley Zaharko   February 27th, 2009 9:51 pm ET

it is time to stop asing if this was right or wronge
it is time to quite asking her questions

IT IS TIme to start educating her on what to do with the babies and getting her and the 6 settled
B

Marsha Taffett   February 27th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

Regardless of of Nadya Sullman's decision to get pregnant , the doctor performing the invitro should have said say no given her personal circumsatnces. Without him, she would still be a mtoher of six. He should be held responsible for all 8 babies both finanacially and as a co-parent, since he is the creator of those 8 lives.

BETTY LOU BROWN   February 27th, 2009 11:14 pm ET

RIGHT OR WRONG? THAT QUESTION IS AFTER THE FACT .....THESE BABIES ARE ALREADY HERE!

MAY I ADD MY TWO CENTS?

THE QUESTION IS: HOW ARE THESE CHILDREN GOING TO BE RAISED, NOT WHETHER THE MOTHER WANTS TO KEEP THE BABIES; OF COURSE SHE DOES.

NO QUESTION, IS THAT SHE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT HERSELF, PHYSICALLY OR FINANCIALLY. DUHHHHH.

SINCE CHARITY SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY ANSWER, ALL OF THE PEOPLE AND AGENCIES WHO MUST CONTRIBUTE, SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND PURCHASE A LARGE HOUSE AND THEN TAKE SOME OF THOSE 'GIRL CHILDREN' WITHIN OUR WORLD WHO WANT TO HAVE BABIES OF THEIR OWN AND LET THEM ALL LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE WITH THE 'WANNABE – MOTHERS' GIRLS ASSIGNED TO TAKE CARE OF THESE CHILDREN AND BABIES.

OF COURSE, THEY WILL HAVE TO BE SUPERVISED BY A RESPONSIBLE PERSON WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS.....BUT THIS PROGRAM WOULD PROBABLY BE TAKING CARE OF MANY PROBLEMS WE ARE FACING AT THIS TIME; IN A MORE ECONOMICAL WAY THAN THINKING OF INDIVIDUAL HOMES FOR EACH AND EVERY PERSON INVOLVED.

NOW IS THE TIME WE COULD LEARN ABOUT LARGE FAMILIES FROM THE MORMONS.....MINUS THE HUSBAND, THAT IS.
NO I'M NOT A MORMON.....JUST AN AMERICAN WHO BELIEVES IN THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS: PEACE, LOVE, LONG SUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, AND TEMPERANCE.

I'M THE MOTHER OF NINE CHILDREN.....BORN ONE AT A TIME AND BELIEVE ME I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HAD HELP. NO THROW-AWAY DIAPERS FOR ME.....AND MOST OF THE TIME, NO DRYER, EITHER. JUST RINSE, WASH, HANG AND FOLD AND MY KIDS WERE ALWAYS CLEAN.....STERILIZING BOTTLES, MAKING FORMULA, ETC. ETC., NOT MUCH TIME FOR LOVE, THOUGH.....IF I HAD IT TO DO OVER, I'D HAVE FOUND TIME FOR MORE LOVE FOR MY CHILDREN. THERE ARE JUST 24 HOURS IN A DAY AND JUST SO MUCH ENERGY A PERSON CAN MUSTER UP WITHIN A DAY.

THESE CHILDREN MUST HAVE HELP! ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!
MAY GOD HELP THEM. WE LIVE AND LEARN AND MAYBE EVERYONE HAS LEARNED MANY LESSONS FROM THIS MULTI-BIRTH EPISODE.

",WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW, IS LOVE, SWEET LOVE.
NO, NOT JUST FOR ONE, BUT FOR EVERYONE. !!! " THANK YOU,
MR. BACARACK, (SPL?) FOR THAT SONG.....SO TRUE!

Marilyn Gruben   February 28th, 2009 12:37 am ET

Had this happened in Canada there would not be so much hate and debate about this woman and her children. These poor children will see someday what their country put their mom through. Only hurt is coming out of sorry heart...Shame on you Americans who are tarnished by greed. Maybe thats why your in debt, your greed has the best of you.

lisha thomas   February 28th, 2009 1:11 am ET

lets face reality. this young lady has went into an awestruck stage. i think she has taken all of her anger out on her mother the most rather than her father. it seems as the mother of this young lady has no love for her daughter at all. the young lady has made up her mind that she wants all of these wonderfully babies and that is a blessing. i hope the world can come together and accept her for what she has done. i believe that these babieswill grow to be healthy and fine.the old say is that lets face it and watch the outcome of these miracles that god has created. i for one has had an expierenced with an 845 gram baby. the doctors told me that my child would never develope to be an normal child. i am so glad that i did not put my trust in man and remembered that god said,"put not your trust in no man put all of your trust in me" that is exactly what i done and i am a living witness that my daughter is now 19 years old, graduated from high school and now is in her second semester in college where she is studying to become an registered nurse.so, this young lady never knoww what god has in store for her until she get an personal relationship with God of her own. tis is what i have to say too you ms thing,"take care of your babies, if you do not want any assistance from the state i suggest that u take the help and continue to nurish those baies. you will be bless.

lisha thomas   February 28th, 2009 1:31 am ET

dr. phil, i applaud you for having this interview with nayda. i want to know. nayda are you ok! i am not putting you down but i hope that if you need a big sister that you woul love to have right now, believe me when i say call me i do not mind just to give you an listening ear. i am here. i may not want to give my phone number now but have whom ever get itouch with me. sweetherar the worl thinks your are insane but i believe that you have been along all of your life. its my understanding that you are your parents only child and maybe you have friends in some point in time but you really need just two listeng ears. i just hope everybody in this world would just only leave her along . for all of you haters she is doing such a wonderful job with the six that she has i do believe at she willdo even greater with the fourteen. yes she can through the grace of God. he did not bring her this far to leave her.

gina tucker   February 28th, 2009 1:36 am ET

I would like to know why a family man like Dr. Phil would even consider seperating the children of nadya in foster care, I have seen first hand what goes on in some of these homes. I really think this thing is getting blown out of purportion. There is a family that lives near me that has 53 children in the immediate family and all live on public assistance and food stamps. One of the girls has 10 children at the age of 28 and they have different fathers that do not pay support. I don't see anyone worrying about the welfare of these children and these children do not have a loving mother like nadya . There are a lot of large familys as many as 20 children and one thing I have noticed is they are very close and appreciate everyhing they have. 30 years ago no one would be so critical of this women they would do the Christian thing and give her love and support. I am really ashamed that the people of a country with such wealth are acting with no compasion and are showing why our country is in such a mess

Jodi Brown   February 28th, 2009 5:48 am ET

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to blog. I am not even sure if this will be read.
I am saddened that this young lady made the decision she did. I am not going to judge her.
But, I am really amazed at the press this has gotten considering what our country is going throug at this time. I can not help but believe that this young women has made such a irreponsible decision. it now seems that this is a media storm and she is going to get all she can get monetarirly.(sp). There are so many children in this country that are so in need. What about the children in appalachia? The new's special that Diane Sawyer did? we are all struggling so. We are the middle class that everyone talks about. My husband has worked for boing for the last 30 years. he can not retire because of the econmic uncertainty. We have always tried to make the best financial decisions possible. We are not rich, and have always had to make choices as to how to spend our money because we have children, who are both in college at this time. We have mortgageed our home to help them. So now, we will now have to be responsible for her children as well. Where is the justice in this? I have little sympathy for this women but I have much concern for her children. I think that she should put them up for adoption and not rely on the American people to pay for her mistakes. As far as we re concerned, this is just another sympom of the irresponsibilty of a so many people in our society. We can not continue to pay for everyone elses mistakes. what if we all just stopped paying our taxes? It HAD TO STOP!!!!!!! The deep pockets are not deep any more. It is just not right.

Thank You
Jodi Brown

I am sure no one will reply to my statement. I am just one of the little people who in the background. Why don't you do a story about US?
How we struggle but somehow make the right decisions? How we feed our families.......we don't buy our children a car to go off to college because we can't afford it. They take the bus or live on campus. Our children have to work while they are in school. And, keep up thier grades.

We are all so tired of all of this. What will happen when our tax dollars are no longer enough to pay for this kind of maddness.

She says Audacity? She makes me shudder. This women is ridding on the backs of the middle class but what else is new?

I am so tired of all of this. I think I will start a blog and encourage others to just stop paying there taxes........it is our only hope. The only way we can be heard.

What if just said enough is enough. No more money until every one takes responsibility. We have had to make tough choices all our lives. I am listening to your program as I write this. Foster care, etc. We are tired of footing the bill for every one elses lack of responsibilty.

I really wish that you would call on me to come on your show. You should have a show comprised of the ordinary middle class people. My husbandmakes 75,000.00 a year. I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer, we have two children in college. Our home which we havve owned for the past 23 years has los 20 percent of it's value. We have very little retirement, except my husbands 1500.,00 dollars a mouth and his social security. I am 54 and going back to school in order to suppliment our retirement if I can find a job. I feel so tired. And, this young womens situation feels like the camel straw. When does it end? EVERY DAY OF OUR LIVES WE MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT WHAT WILL BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR FAMILY.......DO I BUY THE CHICKEN FOR DINNER,? OR DO WE EAT BEANS AND RICE? BECAUSE WHAT IS COMING UP IN THE NEXT WEEK WILL DEPEND ON MY DECSION.

How can this be happening in this time we find ourselves in? Don't you people get it? We can not continue on this course.. .........

Jodi Brown

Jodi Brown   February 28th, 2009 5:57 am ET

One more thing.....I feel that you are a charlenton Dr. Phil.....it seems that all you care about is the sensational. Shame on you. How can you not feel more emphathy as a counselor for the rest of us instead of this young women......? I am disappointed inyou.........

Reg   February 28th, 2009 8:12 pm ET

Jodi
You start it and I will join

I am so tired of all of this. I think I will start a blog and encourage others to just stop paying there taxes……..it is our only hope. The only way we can be heard.
