King's Things: It's My Two Cents

Some logical man on the street needs to tell the government how to boost the economy. If they insist on spending Trillions, just give $50,000 tax free to every household making less than $225,000 a year. The economy will boom and people can keep their houses.

Is everyone just too scared to tell Obama that he needs to shelve the $800 Billion dollar State Government bailout package that he is playfully calling a stimulus package? We are just rewarding bad behavior and it has to stop.

When you are in a hole. The first step to getting out is to STOP digging.

The democratic party is trying way too hard to be politically correct about not seating Burris, even if though his appointment seems questionable. If the law is clear, he should be appointed, even if the dems think it will hurt their chances in the future Illinois senate election. Either way, the democrats get a lot of bad publicity thanks to the antics of corrupt Gov. Blagojevich. They can't win on this one.

Larry, I have an interesting thing to say about Chrysler. They want 15 billion dollars in a bailout, yet they will not stand by their product. I am one of many americans struggling in this economy. I am trying to save my house and I own a 2005 dodge ram. It has 38k miles and the motor died. Chrysler said they need service records to fix it. I do not have the service records, but informed them that the vehicle should not have died at less than 40k miles. They are not willing to help me and a new engine will cost about $7,000 dollars. the truck only cost $13,000 new. I cannot believe they want my tax money, but will not stand by their product. Please get the word out. Thank you and beware of Chrysler!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I like and respect Dr Gupta, the last person this country needs in a political role is a media hack.

One sure way to ensure our fractured country remains in that state is to constantly, incessantly, unrelentingly, keep referring to Obama as the "African American". Since his mother was as white as snow, its almost getting humorous. Even Obama did not allow himself to become entangled with this verbage, it is clear that your guests are in a completely, totally different place ALL THE TIME.

The porn industry should only get a bailout if prostitution became decriminalized, as in Canada and Amsterdam.

Criminialization does not assist people who fall into that line of work. Christians try to help not judge and enable those who fall between the cracks to better themselves, and help society and others.

The porn industry as it stands is a poor representation of sexuality, healthy behaviour, except in some circumstances. At this time, unless they change aspects of their conduct, many should not get the bailout.
Possibly some, that act as enablers, altruistically, or helpfully (self-esteem, education, etc.) may quality, but by and large, it is not an industry standard.

Enjoying your show with T.D. Jakes, such a calming and inspirational man. And can we wait until tomorrow to put up the Elvis tribute, I for one am sick of the yearly tributes to him, there are a lot of historical and more worthly people who don't even get a month of tributes, rather than this trumping up of Elvis every year.

I love Oprah and am truly grateful for the many years of outstanding advice, information and support she has provided to her viewers. It saddens me that she is so unhappy with her weight problems and I know those are real concerns with her as most women who may be overweight. What I wish for her is that she knows how loved, appreciated and respected she is for the person she is and for the beautiful life she lives every day. If she wants to lose weight for "appearance" purposes, I hope she does. If she needs to lose weight for health reason, I beg her to do that because Americans need Oprah. I don't see her size. I see her smile, tears and deeds and she is beautiful, regardless of her weight.

@Matt The umbrella covers everyone & gay special interest groups are playing victim by hijacking the civil rights movement, when in reality they have all the same rights as every individual American. By watching your show tonight and learning that our country needs to move forward in to learn more about how to harvest better family values.
And after seeing what is going with Adam's case.

About the little boy that's been missing for ten years.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? How can a defense lawyer with all due respect get on TV and say that the 'adoptive parents' are "sorry" that they didn't report him missing???? They were aware that he suffered from different mental diseases (or so reported by your program) and yet they are saying they 'thought he must have retrurned to his parents' but DIDN'T CHECK????? WOW!!!!!! GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE!!!!! That poor child didn't have either biological parents that thought enough about him to keep tabs, if possible, nor did he have adoptive parents that gave a crap.......I hope and pray he can come forward just to say that he's OK not withstanding his standard of care from any of these people....May GOD be with him!!!!

Dear Larry,

The first thing that needs to be asked about the missing Adam Hermann, is whether the adoptive parents were getting a subsidy from the state since he has been missing. In my state, Maine, the subsidy is just over $700 a month. If they were not getting the subsidy anymore because he was missing, then the state knew and did nothing either.

The second question is how the state has the audacity to take a child from his mother , not for abuse, but for the possibility of abuse, and then proceed to lose him. If this child turns out to have been harmed, the state is as much to blame as anyone.

I say this as an experienced foster parent who adopted the last two kids in my care. They are both back with birth family, where they belonged all along, where they are loved unconditionally, where no one needs to be paid to care for them. And no, I don't take the subsidy any more.

The state of Maine is well aware of the situation and approves. This is only because the system has been reformed in our state. Other states should follow Maine's lead and perhaps we could have fewer horror stories about foster and adoptive kids.

Kathy Griffin is funny. What also is funny is having this book writing, movie producing pastor speak of seperation of church and state and in the next sentence speak of the changes President Elect Obama will make in the black community. Stick with one thing and do it well, and not seven things and do them with mediocrity.
